About this site -- Is there a need?

Lake Chapala is a land of enchantment where for years people from around the world have been meeting and melding with the history and culture of Lake Chapala. A variety of internet sites provide information to those considering relocating to an area featuring what many consider the most ideal climate in the world.

Steve Iman and Kenny Gardner are visiting and learning about the Chapala area. We dream of owning a home in this vibrant community and are trying to find ways of adding value to that place.

We'll be pooling talents to share photo albums and trip notes. We hope others will want to join in the effort.

Maybe together we can do even more for people wanting to learn about the area.

What's the situation, and what needs might we help satisfy? That's what we'd like to hear from you about.

There are lots of websites with basic information about retiring to Mexico. These vary from real estate outfits to a vibrant community where the newly curious and prior visitors bat around quick practical questions. In different veins, Ann's photos and essays at Yahoo Groups, and ChrisB's reflective "New Beginnings" are examples of good writing that get past the quick questions in sharing what it's like living at the lake. There are even professional writers who are damned good at painting the picture -- few can match the wit and wisdom of the renegade -- or some of the authors for online publications such as El Ojo Del Lago and the membership site, Living at Lake Chapala.

Is there a need for more? What might help? Shared galleries that are easy to post to? Public or private forums?

Steve & Kenny
